Fuel importers in California have received gasoline shipments from Saudi Arabia’s Jubail Industrial Port, marking the first such imports since 2022, according to data from oil analytics firm Kpler.
Three gasoline shipments totaling approximately 886,000 barrels from Saudi Arabia’s Jubail Industrial Port have been delivered to Southern California’s Olympus Terminals in recent months, Kpler’s data showed.
This rare trade flow opened up due to maintenance work at the world’s largest refinery in India, creating an arbitrage opportunity that made the long-distance shipments economically viable.
