Axon Enterprise Inc (NASDAQ:AXON) is in talks to buy Prepared, a startup that sells emergency response software, for about $800 million, The Information reported on Wednesday.
Prepared is backed by General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz, and represents a shift away from Axon’s core business of making police body cameras, tasers, and other security equipment.
Axon also develops dispatch and forensic software.
