Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META) on Wednesday launched the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, a new smart glass model with an in-lens display aimed at building on the success of its predecessors.
The glasses were priced at $799 and are among the latest offerings from Meta’s partnership with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica, which owns Ray-Ban. Meta also unveiled the $499 Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses and the second generation of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, priced at $379.
Meta has found success with its wearables offerings over the past year, which also serve as a vehicle for the company’s AI products. The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses appear to be a consumer-ready version of the company’s experimental Orion augmented reality glasses, which the company had revealed in 2024.
Meta unveiled the new models during its annual Connect conference.
Meta’s smart glasses represent some of the few wearable AI products to find success in recent years, with efforts to meld AI and consumer electronics having yielded limited results so far.
Meta has sold over 2 million Ray-Ban smart glasses since their debut in October, and plans to sell about 5 million units by end-2025.
