Shares of OVS rose 6% on Thursday after the Italian retailer reported record first-half results, with sales and profits climbing on strong demand in women’s apparel and beauty, as well as the first-time consolidation of Goldenpoint.
The company said net sales reached €792.9 million in the first half of 2025, a 4.1% increase from a year earlier.
On a pro-forma basis, excluding Goldenpoint, sales rose 2.2%. Direct store sales grew 5.4% to €645.6 million, while franchise revenues slipped 1.3% to €147.2 million, mainly due to a delay in the kids’ segment sales, which were postponed to August.
Women’s collections remained the key growth driver. OVS highlighted the success of the Les Copains line, which generated higher sales per square meter than other product ranges.
The PIOMBO brand continued to expand, while the beauty segment recorded double-digit growth. Goldenpoint contributed €15 million in sales during its first month of consolidation.
Profitability also improved. The adjusted gross margin rose to 60.7% of sales, compared with 59.6% in the same period last year.
Adjusted EBITDA increased 14.3% to €101.7 million from €89 million, lifting the EBITDA margin to 12.8% from 11.7%. Adjusted net income climbed 31.7% to €45.6 million.
Chief executive Stefano Beraldo said second-quarter sales rose 3.5% despite heavier rainfall earlier in the year that weighed on first-quarter demand.
He added that OVS outperformed the Italian clothing market, which declined about 1% during the same period .
As of July 31, adjusted net financial debt stood at €293.6 million. The company said this figure reflects the consolidation of Goldenpoint, €46 million in dividend distribution, and treasury share purchases.
The company reported strong trading in the early weeks of the second half. Like-for-like sales in August rose by double digits compared with 2024.
Three newly opened Upim stores in Lecce, Merano and Biella exceeded expectations in their first weeks of operation, while Goldenpoint’s late summer sales were described as strong.
