U.S. online brokerage Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) is venturing into the realm of social media with the unveiling of Robinhood Social, a new in-app network tailored explicitly for investors, the company said on Wednesday.
The feature allows users to share verified trades, follow other investors’ activity, and engage in strategy discussions, echoing the formats popularized by Reddit’s WallStreetBets and platforms like X.
"This is the first social platform where you can trade across stocks, options, futures, crypto, and prediction markets, all without switching apps," the company said in a statement.
The brokerage added that the platform will highlight trades by major market players, including politicians, corporate insiders, and hedge funds, using publicly available data.
Robinhood Social will be launched only to a select number of customers in the US early next year, with broader availability expected to follow. It will be available at no additional cost.
The company also announced enhancements to its desktop platform, Robinhood Legend, including custom financial indicators, overnight index options, and expanded futures trading, all powered by its AI assistant Robinhood Cortex.
This initiative comes as Robinhood continues its expansion beyond trading into becoming a full-fledged financial “superapp.”
