Super Retail Group Ltd (ASX:SUL) said on Tuesday it had fired CEO and Managing Director Anthony Heraghty with immediate effect, stating that his disclosures with regards to a relationship with an employee were “not satisfactory.”
The company’s board said it made the decision on Heraghty’s firing after receiving new information on his relationship with the company’s former chief human resources officer.
“In light of this new information, the Board has concluded Mr Heraghty’s prior disclosures were not satisfactory,” Super Retail said in a release to the ASX stock exchange.
CFO David Burns has been appointed interim CEO while the company seeks a new CEO, Super Retail said.
The company owns and operates a slew of major retail brands in Australia and New Zealand, including automobile retailer Supercheap Auto, outdoor brands Macpac and BCF, and sporting goods retailer Rebel Sport.
