The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration on Wednesday issued a ground stop for United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL) flights at airports across the United States and Canada, citing a technology issue, before operations resumed within an hour.
The halt, requested by United, came shortly before midnight Central Time on Tuesday as a connectivity failure disrupted departure operations. The FAA said the grounding would last until 0700 GMT, but United later confirmed flights were again in service.
This incident follows a similar glitch in August that grounded United services at major hubs and triggered widespread network delays.
