Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) plans to invest $10 billion to build a 1-gigawatt data centre cluster in Visakhapatnam, marking its first such large-scale investment in India, the Economic Times reported on Wednesday, citing details of the proposed project.
The tech giant’s facility will include three data centre campuses located at Adavivaram and Tarluvada villages in Visakhapatnam district, and Rambilli village in neighbouring Anakapalli district, according to the report.
The investment underscores Google’s expanding push into cloud infrastructure to meet surging digital demand in India, one of its fastest-growing markets.
