Aéroports de Paris SA reported a decline in passenger traffic for April 2026, with group volumes falling 4.9% year-on-year to 29.1 million passengers, as geopolitical instability and schedule adjustments weighed on air travel demand.
Within the group, Paris Aéroport traffic was more resilient, declining 1.3% to 9.2 million passengers compared with April 2025.
The operator said performance was affected by “adjustments to flight schedules as well as restrictions on access to certain airspace” in the context of geopolitical instability in the Middle East.
The company also pointed to “the unfavorable timing effect of certain religious holidays compared to April 2025” as an additional drag, alongside planned reductions in flight schedules that were independent of the current crisis.
By airport, Paris-CDG recorded stable traffic at 6.05 million passengers, while Paris-Orly fell 3.6% to 3.12 million. The group noted that Middle East routes were particularly affected, with traffic to the region down sharply during the month.
Across the wider portfolio, TAV Airports declined 5.3%, while GMR Airports fell 5.0%, reflecting broad-based pressure across international assets. Other airports in the group saw a steeper 15.1% drop.
Despite the monthly decline, year-to-date traffic remained slightly positive, with group volumes up 0.3% over January to April 2026.
Aircraft movements across the group decreased 2.3% in April, while the seat load factor declined 1.1 percentage points to 85.4%, indicating softer capacity utilization.
